The Gospel writers tell us the story. How did a gruesome day become Good Friday? Directly after the death of Jesus, the skies turned dark, the earth shook and the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom. The meaning of the “Torn Veil” is wrapped up in the old-covenant function to separate the Israelites from the direct Presence of God. When Jesus died upon the cross, the heavens were opened to all men. Jesus not only made a way, He is the Way and the ongoing Light of World. The Old Testament blood shed was no longer required when Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice to redeem a world. The only sacrifice left for the ministers to offer is THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE!
